Former cat Chester got into all kinds of trouble outdoors. When three new kittens were adopted, they were kept indoors until the backyard deck was transformed into a delightful catio.

WHAT CAT PARENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT CATIOS….

“Our former cat was named Chester. He got into all kinds of trouble being an outdoor cat. He got in fights with neighborhood cats, he stayed out past dark, and he got trapped in somebody’s garage. Once he got stuck up in a tree with dogs below him kind of keeping him stuck.

So, there were a lot of hazards and vet appointments and antibiotics. It was terrible and a lot of money. Absolutely a lot of money, and expense and fear.

We have three cats Jake, Fergus and Finnegan. The three cats have plenty of space inside the house. They tear around chasing each other, playing and they have cat toys, tunnels and cat condos.

But having the catio and having that outdoor space is such a daily relief to know that they are safe. And we know exactly where they are every minute of every day.

We’re finding that one of the cats in particular is not bullying the other cat. Jake is a lot more mellow with Fergus, much more than he was before.

We are loving being outside. We didn’t want to be separate from them sitting on our back porch. The dog comes out. They go everywhere in the catio. They love every corner of it.

It’s a great place to take a little catnap. It’s perfect!”
